Bible Verse of the Day

This pic was taken during the November visit. I sure am hoping for another visit when the new baby is born in May.

2Cr 1:3 ¶ Blessed [be] God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;

2Cr 1:4 Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.

So thankful for the comfort of God as we go through lifes trials. Most days Tom and I get to talk to Alaine and Keirstyn and she is such a little blessing. Today she was counting for me as she climbed the stairs to go up for her bath. When she got to the top she said " Good Job! "

Bible Verse for the Day

Deu 31:12 Gather the people together, men, and women, and children, and thy stranger that [is] within thy gates, that they may hear, and that they may learn, and fear the LORD your God, and observe to do all the words of this law:

Deu 31:13 And [that] their children, which have not known [any thing], may hear, and learn to fear the LORD your God, as long as ye live in the land whither ye go over Jordan to possess it.

These commands were given to Moses as he led the people. Of course it is a good admonition to us to encourage people to come out to church and bring their children that they might hear the Gospel and believe it.

I mailed Kierstyn a Valentine gift in what i thought was plenty of time to receive it. Well she did, Yesterday!! I was beginning to think it was lost in the mail or stolen and i hadnt insured it. Alaine gave it to her after afternoon nap and she was excited to find books and an out fit. She pulled out the clothes and saw a frog on the shirt and said " Cute ". Shes so much like her mom in some ways.

She continues to love her books and the other week in the nursery at church the worker told Alaine she gathered all her little friends in a circle and was attempting to read to them. I would have loved to have seen that as her speech is limited but she vocalizes alot and raises and lowers her voice like i am sure she hears others do when they read to her.

Bible Verse of the Day

Isa 12:2 Behold, God [is] my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH [is] my strength and [my] song; he also is become my salvation.

An online friend of mine Joyce S is having health difficulties and will be having some tests done. Please keep her in prayer and her husband. thanks.

Fetal Pain, a Sensitive Subject

Fetal Pain, a Sensitive Subject for the New York Times

In an extensive article yesterday, the New York Times went into great depth on the topic of fetal pain and what it means to the abortion debate. "The First Ache" by Annie Murphy Paul highlighted what has become a meaningful argument for persuading women to reconsider their abortions. The mere fact that the Times acknowledged that fetal pain occurs is a significant step forward. We applaud Paul for treating the subject with the impartiality and dignity it warrants. Americans deserve to know the truth about the humanity of the unborn child, and this article goes a long way toward starting a meaningful dialogue about how the nation can ensure that more women have the facts they need to make informed decisions.

Bible Verse for the Day

Jos 1:8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

Jos 1:9 Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God [is] with thee whithersoever thou goest

If we want to be prosperous in this life we need to read and meditate on the word of God daily. Oh you may prosper in the worlds ways if you neglect it but to be strong in the Lord and have the courage to face lifes trials we need God's Word. What do you put before the Word of God? food, computer, job children? Seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you. matthew 6:33

Hello everyone, Well what can I say I am two now and learning lots of new things.
Grandma hears me talking and putting together short sentences. I like to hear her and Poppie sing ABC on the telephone to me. I have not quite adjusted to my new bed yet but hopefully soon. After all the videos with Elmo I am starting to get the hang of using the Pottie. I have not arrived yet but am starting to tell when i have that funny feeling.

If you want to come for lunch i will cook for you in my new kitchen i got for Christmas. Love to all my friends and family..... Kierstyn

Population Research Institute covers " March For Life 2008 "

Planned Parenthood would have us think that the youth of America are predominately Pro-Choice. I dont believe that for a minute. Life begins at conception and many teens believe it and are willing to tell us so.

Psa 139:13 For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother's womb.

Psa 139:14 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully [and] wonderfully made: marvellous [are] thy works; and [that] my soul knoweth right well.

Psa 139:15 My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, [and] curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.

Psa 139:16 Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all [my members] were written, [which] in continuance were fashioned, when [as yet there was] none of them.

Bible Verse For The Day

Eph 5:1 ¶ Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;

Eph 5:2 And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.

I am currently working on memorizing Ephesians 5 and thought i would share a few verses and thoughts the Lord has given me concerning them.

In order to follow God we must first be his child. In John 1:12 it tells us that
" as many as received him to them gave he the power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name." In John 10 we learn that " my sheep hear my voice and they follow me. " Christ was our perfect example of how to walk when he did so as he lived on earth. His life was an offering to others not only in his death burial and ressurection but in the way he lived. He humbled himself and became a servant. Lord help me to walk today and follow in his steps.

Kierstyns new bed.... and weekend news...

For those of you who didnt see this already i found where the picture of Kierstyn's new bed was saved. Her mom and dad decided to make the switch early so she would adjust to her new bed before the new baby needs the crib. I haven't talked to Alaine yet today but i am sure she is adjusting just fine.

We had an icy day and in particular last night but today things have warmed up and Tom is out chopping up the ice that acclumilated on our sidewalk.

I am feeling kind of achy today as a result of my chemo on Thursday. Its odd that it takes several days before i feel any symptoms but like i told my sister this morning this too will pass. I am thankful that is the only bad side affect i have.

Bible Verse For the Day

1Jo 5:11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.

1Jo 5:12 He that hath the Son hath life; [and] he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

1Jo 5:13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

Isn't it good to know that God wanted us to know that we have eternal life? We dont have to hope so or think so but we can know. If we have the Son ( Jesus ) we have life.

Bible Verse for the Day

Pro 16:25 There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof [are] the ways of death.

Many times a day we must make decisions will we do what feels right or will we obey the Lord? Religion often feels right. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father but by me." John 14:6. Salvation and forgiveness of sins comes only through Jesus and his atonement on the cross. It is not found in a wafer, or baptism or good works but in the blood of Christ.

1Pe 1:18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, [as] silver and gold, from your vain conversation [received] by tradition from your fathers

1Pe 1:19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God: Eph 2:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

If you are not sure that you are following God's way today, why not talk to him in prayer and make sure.

Bible verse for the day/ Prayer needs

Yesterday i started thinking about posting a verse for the day and maybe a thought or two to go with it. We can all use encouragement and I just love the Word of God to do just that.

Proverbs 14:26 In the fear of the LORD is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge.

I am so thankful there came a time when i put my trust in Jesus for the forgiveness of my sins and trusted him as my personal Saviour.

He is my place of refuge and my strong confidence as I face lifes battles in particular the one if fight against Cancer. I do not have to be fearful of the future because He is the strength of my life. A verse I recently memorized is
Colossians 1:14 " In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins. " What a blessing to know God loves me and has redeemed me from my sins. The blood of Christ is my covering and makes me righteous. I surely have no righteousness of my own.

Prayer needs: Grace L has been having periods of dizziness and nausia. She needs to see a doctor for a good checkup.

Kathy B another friend who is a cancer survivor has been told she has a mass on her adrenal gland and a nodule on her lung they have been watching. Pray for her and her doctors for wisdom and healing.

Thanks

Well I hope to make another post later today... if not then soon. God bless and Go with God.

New Picture of Kierstyn at Two years

Where has the time gone. My beautiful granddaughter has turned two. I always knew being a grandma would be fun but she has exceeded my expectations. We talk to her on the phone almost daily and she wants us to sing the ABC song and Itsy Bitsy Spider now. She has the cutest little voice.

Alaine has been working at getting her pottie trained and at first she was not interested but she is starting to use it. Yeah Ki Ki! She is also learning to count and just started to sing. I sure wish she lived closer but hopefully we will
be able to visit when her baby brother is born or we will see her in July when Uncle Bryan gets married in July. That seems so far away.

Psa 103:17 But the mercy of the LORD [is] from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children's children;

More Snow in New York

Thankfully i didnt find this in my back yard..... LOL Just had to throw it in to see if you were all awake. Unfortunately there are some of these who hang around the house of God causing trouble.

While we didnt only get a few inches, its been cold and blustery today. We woke up and it was coming down pretty good. These pics were taken early when i first put the dog out this morning. Micah is back by the property fence looking for his friend, an old black female lab that he thinks is pretty sweet.

Saturday, February 9, 2008

We went shopping today and just before we left i saw this quilt that i really liked to put on our new bed that we got for Christmas. We also ran into Bryan and Azucena and spent some time with them which was nice. I found a couple good buys at Macy's all on sale. It snowed some today but nothing serious.

THE OLD PATHS

I liked the old paths, when
Moms were at home.
Dads were at work.
Brothers went into the army.
And sisters got married BEFORE having children!

Crime did not pay;
Hard work did;
And people knew the difference.

Moms could cook;
Dads would work;
Children would behave.

Husbands were loving;
Wives were supportive;
And children were polite.

Women wore the jewelry;
And Men wore the pants.
Women looked like ladies;
Men looked like gentlemen;
And children looked decent.

People loved the truth,
And hated a lie;
They came to church to get IN,
Not to get OUT!

Hymns sounded Godly;
Sermons sounded helpful;
Rejoicing sounded normal;
And crying sounded sincere.

Cursing was wicked;
Drugs were for illness;
And divorce was unthinkable.

The flag was honored;
America was beautiful;
And God was welcome!

We read the Bible in public;
Prayed in school;
And preached from house to house
To be called an American was worth dying for;
To be called a Christian was worth living for;
To be called a traitor was a shame!

Preachers preached because they had a message;
And Christians rejoiced because they had the VICTORY!
Preachers preached from the Bible;
Singers sang from the heart;
And sinners turned to the Lord to be SAVED!

A new birth meant a new life;
Salvation meant a changed life;
Followin g Christ led to eternal life.

Being a preacher meant you proclaimed the word of God;
Being an officer?meant you would serve the Lord;
Being a Christian meant you would live for Jesus;
And being a sinner meant someone was praying for you!

Laws were based on the Bible;
Homes read the Bible;
And churches taught the Bible.

God was worshiped;
Christ was exalted;
And the Holy Spirit was respected..

Church was where you found Christians
on the Lord's day, rather than in the garden,
on the creek bank, on the golf course,
Or being entertained somewhere else.

I still like the old paths the best!

break from chemo this week

As most of you know i am doing chemo for metastatic breast cancer. The drug i am on is called Abraxane and is given three weeks on and one week off. I also get Zometa by infusion to strengthen my bones. I am anemic also so i get a shot of Procrit once a week. This is my week off and all i get is the shot of procrit. I had a few rough days of chemo reaction Sun - Tues with aching and running a temp again.

There are days when i would just as soon stop the treatment but i am responding to it so I just keep on keeping on and trusting the Lord.

I have so much to live for and want to be able to enjoy my family, and serve the Lord. My son is getting married this summer and we have a new grandbaby on the way which will be a blessing. I have been so blessed to enjoy Kierstyn and see her grow from babyhood to an adorable toddler has been fun. I am thankful for the visits both ours and theirs and look forward to more.

Isa 41:10 Fear thou not; for I [am] with thee: be not dismayed; for I [am] thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness

enjoying our granddaughter

Giggles and smiles from our little cutie make me love her all the more. What a blessing grandchildren are.

Monday, February 4, 2008

This is our daughter Alaine and our son-in-law Rob with their daughter
Kierstyn who is now two. They have been married almost seven years and are expecting their second baby in May. Rob is in the Air Guard and Alaine is staying at home with the little one. They live too far away from us but we have been blessed to be able to visit often. They were here in November and will be here for Bryans wedding. Rob is going to be the best man.
They are very active in their church where Rob teaches teen Sunday school and they both help with the teen group. Alaine who graduated from Pensacola Christian College with a degree in Music Education sings in a ladies group called Vessals of Honor and also does special music.

I thought i would introduce my kids for those of you who dont already know them. This is Bryan and his fiancee' Azucena. Bryan is a police officer and they got engaged this past August. They plan to marry this July 12th. Azucena is from Peru and has been in the states for four years.

She lives with her dad and brother and also has several sisters here but her mom has not been able to come here. Azucena works in a bank and also as an occasional worker at Macys.

Bryan and Azucena attend our church and are currently being counselled by pastor in preparation for their wedding.

wrist and had to have surgery to re-
pair it. They are leaving soon for
a much needed vacation in Florida.
Hopefully this wont deter them.

Friday, February 1, 2008

My first attempt at posting a photo didnt work so i am adding this with a second post. This was taken when my granddaughter came for a visit in November. We put up our tree early and celbrated before she went home in mid December. Keirstyn was two on December 31st and is a joy to her Me Me and Poppie as she calls us.
Hello friends and family,
I have been told more than once that i should create a blog and share my testimony and daily happenings.
I am married to my dear husband Tom for thirty six years. We have two adult children Bryan age 32 and Alaine 29. We have a wonderful son in law Rob and a granddaughter Kierstyn. We expect a grandson Kierstyns new brother at the end of May or so. Bryan is engaged to Azucena and they have set the date for July 12th of this year.
I am a Christian and came to know the Lord as my saviour in October of 1973. I had been married for two years and had lost my mother to cancer in 1972 which caused me to think of my own eternity and where i would go if i should die. A friend at work began to witness to me and share her faith and eventually took me to a Billy Graham movie called a " Time To Run". Instead of running from Christ I ran to him and repented of my sins and trusted him as Saviour.

Well thats all for my first post.
