October 10

Happy Birthday Little Brother...thats him on the right. He turned 51 today if i am not mistaken.

The weather here is cooler than i would like but it is almost mid October.

I would like to share a verse the Lord has laid on my heart today.

Psa 143:8 Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee.

September 29th

Well today is my son Bryans 33 birthday. It is also his badge # on the police force.

Tomorrow is my last radiation treatment on my scalp and i am thankful for this as the radiation has somewhat affected my appetite. Hopefully this will improve soon.
Dry heaves are not fun at anytime and especially when you first get up in the morning. I trust the treatments and Gods healing hand will bring complete healing to that area.

I also celebrated my birthday this past week. I enjoyed time with both family and friends. Life is so precious and i am thankful to have been blessed with another year.

We are planning another trip west and looking forward to time with our daughter and family. I sure do miss my grandbabies.

Have a great week everyone.

September 15th 2008

Well it certainly has been a long time since i posted anything. I have enjoyed my summer and its been busy.

My son Bryan got married July 12th to Azucena and we had the kids here from Washington for a few days for that celebration.

I do have another health issue to deal with as a lesion on my scalp has been diagnosed as another matatasis from the cancer. I will see a radiologist tomorrow for a consultation to set up treatment. I am still doing chemotheraphy on a weekly basis with three weeks on and one week off.

Our church voted on a new pastor who will be with us in early October. We are excited about that.

This past weekend my brother and Bernice were up from Florida to do some cycling in Vermont and we got to spend sometime with them.

I will try to do at least a weekly update here to keep friends and family informed as to whats going on in my life. Please pray for me to be strong in the Lord and to continue to trust him and be a witness.

Thankful Friday

Psalm 103: 1 - 5

1 Bless the LORD oh my soul: and all that is within me bless his holy name.

2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:

3 Who forgiveth all tne iniquites: who healeth all thy diseases;

4 Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness
and tender mercies;

5 Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like
the eagle's.

Rencently i have had so many blessings to count and give thanks for. My health continues to stay stable and i feel stronger. Tom and i had a wonderful visit with Alaine and Rob and our two precious grandkids. I even got to experience first hand
the birth of Brody. What a miracle birth is.

Even though we are without a pastor currently our church is doing well and trusting the Lord.

In just three weeks we will see our son married to a sweet Christian gal and are thankful for Gods blessing and his safety he gives Bryan on the job.

This is my friend Grace and her three boys, Rich, Ben and Brad.

We attended the wedding of Ben and Amiee Lewis this past Saturday. I have known Ben since he was about four years old. Hes a great Christian guy and a blessing to all who know him. I pray he and Aimee have a wonderful life as they serve the Lord together.

I just love my baby Brody...

Just sharing a few pics of Kierstyn and my new grandson Brody Robert.
As you can she Kierstyn thinks its great fun being a big sister. She is quite inthralled with him and a big help to mommy.

Last Saturday we had a nice shower for my future daughter-in-law held at our church.
Many thanks to my friend Arlene for helping me and to Madeline for her sweet devotion
on Joy. Ladies were such a help even Azucena and her friends stayed and helped take down tables and put things away. Azucena received many nice gifts and such a good variety of things.

Big sister Kierstyn loves Brody and enjoys holding and talking to him.

Heaven Sent

Brody Robert arrived on May 28th and Grandma had the priviledge to witness his birth.
Hes a handsome little guy who weighed in at 8lbs 8 ounces and was 20 and 1/4 inches long. His mom had an easy delivery for which we are thankful.

Friday, May 23, 2008

Here is a funny pic of my dad at a restaurant with my brother the day before his departure back to New York.

We will soon be on our way to visit my daughter and family in Washington state. It sure will be good to see them in person and soon hold the new baby who still has not been born. I am trusting hes just waiting until Grandma & Granpa come.

Some thoughts from my devotions today taken from Matthew 7:7-12.

Matthew 7:7 Ask and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. If you take the first letter of each part of this vers Ask, Seek, and Knock, what does it spell? ASK

So many times we have heard that if the Lord doesn't open the door, it is not his will. But how many of ushave knocked and aske the Lord to open the closed door?

Jesus said, knock and it shall be opened. When you knock on someones door they will ask who is it and if they dont know you they might say What do you want? If they trust you they will open the door. Maybe more doors would be opened if we trusted.

Does the Father really know you? Do you know Him or just know about him? It all starts with a personal faith and trust with the Savior.

Taken from Call to Glory....

This morning we had a breakfast at the home of Madeline Derwin one of the ladies from church. About fourteen of us attended and our previous pastors wife shared a devotion with us on mustard seed faith. The food was delicious and the fellowship sweet. We even sang a few songs with the keyboard which was fun.

verses for today

As i was working on a few memory verses this morning i thought it might be a good thing to share on my blog.

Below are the verses i am memorizing currently.

1Pe 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

1Pe 1:24 For all flesh [is] as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away:

1Pe 1:25 But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.

I am thankful some thirty four years ago someone shared with my from the precious Word of God that i needed to be born again. If you are not familar with that term you can read about Nicodemus and his conversation with Jesus about that in John chapter three.

As i was working on verse 24 i was reminded of how brief this life we have on earth is. I think the fact that i have cancer and am always having treament and seeing doctors surely reminds me of this too. You may be young and healthy but the fact remains life is brief in comparison to eternity. This flesh we live in withering and dying. Gods word is eternal and will endure forever. It contains the good news that if we trust in Christ and his death burial and ressurection that we too can live eternally. One can know this for sure and not have to hope so or depend on their own good works. The Bible declares it is not by works of righteousness that we have done but according to his mercy that he saved us.

If you want to know where it tells us we can know for sure about heaven see below.

Tts 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

1Jo 5:11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.

1Jo 5:12 He that hath the Son hath life; [and] he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

1Jo 5:13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

A new Pic of Kierstyn

Heres a new pic of Kierstyn posing for the camera.... She is a corker and loves to be photographed. She got a toy camera from my brother and his fiance'e and has been running around telling everyone to say cheese.

We talk on the phone with her almost every morning during her breakfast as its become a habit she enjoys and of course us.

Sorry i have been lazy about posting here but will try to post a bit more often.

Psalm 1 gives us several characteristics of the " Blessed Man ".

Psa 1:1 ¶ Blessed [is] the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

1. He is separated from the world. He will not get his counsel from the world,
but from God and his Word.

2. The blessed man is saturated with the Word of God. verse 2

Psa 1:2 But his delight [is] in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

He reads it daily and meditates in it day and night. He memorizes it and
finds his delight there.

3. The blessed man is situated by the waters. vs 3

Psa 1:3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

He puts himself in the house of God where he will be nourished spiritually. God protects, prunes and guards him.

The ungodly are not so as we are told in verse 4. I am thankful to be a blessed woman today and will strive to remain that way!

Today may we each be separated from the world, saturated in the Word and situated by the Waters.

Many Roads to God?

The world is full of religion. Religion says there are many roads that lead to Heaven, but what does the Bible say? Jonah 2:9 tells us " Salvation is of the Lord." Notice it does not say religion is of the Lord. Gods salvation is set upon a rock and that rock is Jesus Christ.

Psa 40:2 He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, [and] established my goings.

1Cr 10:4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.

Jhn 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Act 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Man says this feels good i like my religion. My family has always been ......
God says: Pro 14:12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof [are] the ways of death.

Dont trust your feelings. Believe that Christ died for your sins and repent before its too late.

My Anchor Holds!

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing
one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. Colossians 3:16

If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
John 7:37b

At church last night one of the songs we sang was "We have an anchor that keeps
the Soul" Of course that anchor is Jesus. Pastors message brought forth that we need to be anchored in four areas, our service, our faith, prayer and the Word.

Lets put these into practice each day. Life may send its storms because the rain
falls on the just and the unjust but we do not need to be tossed to and fro for our Anchor holds!

Hbr 6:19 Which [hope] we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;

We are excited to have found tickets to go visit Rob Alaine Kierstyn and the new baby who will soon be here. All we need now is someone to take care of our rottweiler Micah.

The weather here is finally warming up and the snow is gone for which we are thankful.

Tom will soon be golfing.

Psa 27:13 [I had fainted], unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.

Psa 27:14 Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.

Isa 33:6 And wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability of thy times, [and] strength of salvation: the fear of the LORD [is] his treasure.

Please keep my church in prayer as we seek another Pastor. Our current pastor of almost fifteen years gave notice God is calling him to another church in Georgia.
We are sad to see him go but are trusting the Lord.

    Thou Art Mine
    ~
When Thou passest thru the waters,
    Thou art Mine!
    They shall never overflow thee,
    Thou art Mine!
Tho thou walkest in the fire,
    And it seeketh to devour
Thou art precious in My sight, child,
    Thou art Mine!
    ~
Everyone that's called by My name,
    They are Mine!
    They're created for My glory,
    They are Mine!
I have chosen them to serve
    And My holy name preserve.
They are precious in My sight, yes,
    They are Mine!
    ~
I will do a new thing for them
    That are Mine!
In the desert send them waters,
    That are Mine!
Fear not then, for I am there,
And they path, 'twas planned with care,
For I love them, Oh, I love them
    That are Mine!

Isa 43:2 When thou passest through the waters, I [will be] with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.

Praise the Lord no matter what trial we go through He will never leave us nor forsake us. Sometimes it seems like my life is one big trial with cancer constantly hanging over me but the Lord has sustained me every step of the way.

Just sharing a couple more family pics...

Psa 34:3 O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together.

Psa 34:4 I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.

We were down to Bryans last week for dinner and enjoyed some good food and time together.

Yesterday i had a CT Scan and in a few days we will find out how things are looking and if the same treatment plan will continue or the Doctor will chose to change it.

Here is a look at the snow we recieved yesterday. Of course this was on top of what was still hanging around but we did get about three inches or so.

Micah enjoyed it. For some reason I cant get another pic to load so one will have to do for today.

Isa 1:18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

Its wonderful to know our sins can be forgiven and made white as snow...

    Have a great weekend everyone.

Eph 6:4 And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

    counting my blessings today

Here is a pic of Alaine. As you can see she is just a beautiful picture of motherhood. She has two months or so to go before Brody Robert is born. I sure wish
we lived closer. She is a joy to have as a daughter. Thankful for the blessing of two children who love and serve the Lord.

Psa 127:3 Lo, children [are] an heritage of the LORD: [and] the fruit of the womb [is his] reward.

I have changed things so comments can be left more easily.

    Monday, March 24, 2008

I hope you all had a great Resurrection Sunday. I forgot to take pictures but the above are Kierstyn and her friends. Bryan and Azucena came for church and then dinner. I wasnt feeling the greatest but my soon to be daughter-in-law was a big help in getting dinner on and cleaning up. Church was good in the morning and we had one baptism. In the evening there were four teenagers who made profession of faith in Jesus. Thats what its all about!

Jhn 11:25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:

Jhn 11:26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?

2 Corinthians 12:9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

Well its been a couple of rough days from the effects of my chemotherapy. I felt achy and miserable but thankful that it doesnt last long. I was still able to be in church and my husband is always good to pitch in and help me. So thankful for the grace of God who proves to be sufficient every day.

    Trial by Fire

1Pe 1:7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:

    The Trial by Fire

There are all kinds of difficulties to endure in life
like roadblocks and hurdles to cross.
But there's a trial by fire that goes beyond common problems
but to pass it is worth all the costs.
This is the trial where the issues of faith
    are tested like never before,
Where the heart has to believe what God says is true
despite the heartache that lands at our door.
And this trial by fire teaches us to pray harder
    and to pray with intensity each day;
To believe God is faithful through the silence we hear
and that He's listening to us as we pray.
The trial by fire is an uncomfortable place
God will allow us to be for the good.
For there in that place comes the wisdom of heaven
that we once might have not understood.
And there we truly learn what it means to persevere
finding ourselves stronger than we ever knew.
For God sustains us & strengthens us for the mission at hand
and every hard day that we're going through.
We become a different person through the testing and pain
with the will of God as our growing desire.
More humble...more tender...much stronger and wiser
are our gifts from the trial by fire.

    Bible Verse of the Day

"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts."

    Bible Verse of the Day

Mat 8:25 And his disciples came to [him], and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish.

Mat 8:26 And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.

Often we even as the disciples struggled with fear and lack of faith. If you want to increase your faith feed it with the word of God.

Rom 10:17 So then faith [cometh] by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Take time daily to read meditate and hide the word of God in your heart. It will increase your faith and relieve any fears you might have.
